Autism and Asperger Union

Hi everyone,
At our committee meeting this week, we received information about a new group called the Autism and Asperger Union. We don't have any personal experience of this group, but thought we'd add the information to our blog so that if you're interested, you can find out more about it.
Here is the information we received:
The Autism and Asperger Union is a constituted voluntary group that aims to provide a comprehensive support service for adults with autism or asperger syndrome. The group was established in September 2009 and is currently in the process of making its applications for funding. The group will start trading by June 2010.
The group is currently looking for volunteer Trustees to serve on the committee. The individuals that we are seeking must share and promote the aims of the Autism and Asperger Union; have a background in community and charity work; be willing to attend 3-4 meetings a year and an AGM.
This is a new group and will require people that have patience and a commitment to the long-term vision of ensuring people with autism and Aspergers syndrome get the best out of life through employment and social activities.
This post is not remunerated due to the group having not having any funds at present. It is the intention that out of pocket expenses will be paid in future.
To apply contact the chairman
